Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Claims Processing: Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance providers, Medicare, and Medicaid for reimbursement.

• Billing: Create and dispatch invoices to patients for services provided, following up on unpaid balances and resolving any billing discrepancies.

• Insurance Verification: Confirm patients' insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring all required authorizations and referrals are obtained prior to service delivery.

• Coding: Assign the correct medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and regulations.

• Payment Posting: Accurately record and reconcile payments received from insurance companies and patients, applying them to the appropriate accounts within the billing system.

• Denial Management: Examine and appeal claim denials and rejections, identifying and addressing underlying issues to mitigate future occurrences.

• Patient Communication: Engage with patients regarding billing questions, payment plans, and financial assistance options, delivering exceptional customer service while addressing concerns.

• Documentation: Keep precise and updated records of billing activities, including claims submissions, payments received, and correspondence with insurance providers and patients.

• Compliance: Follow all pertinent healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and billing compliance guidelines, to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of patient information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.

• Experience: At least one year of experience in medical billing is required, preferably within a healthcare environment.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and insurance claim processing practices.

• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management abilities, and capability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

• Communication: Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.

• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze billing challenges, identify solutions, and implement process enhancements to optimize revenue cycle management.

• Teamwork: Competence in collaborating with colleagues across departments to resolve billing-related challenges and achieve organizational objectives.

• Internet Connection:

- Primary internet connection must have a minimum speed of 15 Mbps.

- Backup internet connection should be at least 10 Mbps.

- Backup connection must support work during power outages.

• Primary Device:

- Desktop or laptop should be equipped with at least:

- Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer), Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer), AMD Ryzen 5, or an equivalent processor.

- A minimum of 8 GB RAM.

• Backup Device:

- Must match or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor.
