This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Build and nurture relationships with leading research and clinical experts to identify and pursue opportunities for collaborative research aimed at addressing unmet medical needs using GH products.

• Partner with the MSL team to respond to incoming research inquiries from Field Medical partners, enhancing the understanding of Guardant's research practices and strategies.

• Collaborate with Clinical Development to pinpoint clinical unmet needs, identify evidence gaps, and advance studies that generate evidence to support the development, commercial launch, reimbursement, and adoption of Guardant Oncology products.

• Advocate for Investigator-Sponsored Trials (ISTs) by participating in protocol review committees and engaging with research collaborators to promote research proposals.

• Utilize scientific, clinical, and/or technical knowledge to engage top key opinion leaders in the implementation of biomarkers for their clinical trials and the interpretation of Guardant Research Use Only (RUO) and Investigative Use Only (IUO) data.

• Drive research initiatives using Guardant datasets in collaboration with partners, and excel in scientific writing to ensure effective data submissions to peer-reviewed journals.

• Offer strategic reviews and suggest edits for collaborative abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts as appropriate.

• Act as an advocate for scientifically and clinically sound applications of precision oncology assays in clinical trials, oncology research, and future clinical care, aligning with medical strategic plans.

• Function as the GH research manager for key academic institutions, promoting research engagements across these institutions and collaborating with other field teams to support research strategies and initiatives.

• Review and/or contribute to accurate and current scientific and medical content, including late-stage treatment landscapes relevant to specific applications and cancer types, for both internal and external audiences.

• Identify and compile areas of unmet medical need, championing clinical and research experts, and elevating customer feedback internally.

• Stay informed about relevant publications across various platforms and generate up-to-date scientific and medical content for accountable applications and cancer types in partnership with Clinical Development, Medical Enablement, and/or Oncology Marketing.

• Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and trends in oncology precision medicine.

• Lead and/or collaborate with regional cross-functional field teams to align on research priorities and strategies for accounts.

• Communicate and coordinate cross-functional efforts within US Medical Affairs and/or across Guardant teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a university degree and around 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s degree; 3 years with a PhD; or a PharmD/MD.

• Clinical expertise or relevant experience in oncology and/or genomics is highly preferred.

• Experience in collaborating with experts at academic medical centers and/or biopharma companies to establish consensus around new products and/or services is highly desirable.

• Background in conducting and/or publishing clinical research is highly preferred.

• Proven track record of generating data from a Clinical Development or Research Plan for novel clinical products in collaboration with KOLs is strongly desired.

• Proficiency in genomic biomarker testing technologies, including IHC, DNA/RNA, FISH, NGS (particularly plasma NGS/liquid biopsy), and digital PCR.

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the biotechnology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical industries.

• Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of company product specifications.

• Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

• Capable of working independently and remotely while fostering a strong teamwork ethic.
