This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee and/or delegate files to the appropriate team members while initiating necessary verbal and/or written communication with employers, clients, claimants, and medical providers.
• Establish files in all relevant systems; where applicable, assign files to the nurse.
• Assume responsibility for an individual caseload.
• Maintain both electronic and paper files appropriately.
• Collaborate with a range of inter-disciplinary providers (e.g., PT, diagnostic, psychology, etc.).
• Identify, sustain, and refresh the list of participating providers.
• Handle incoming calls and direct them as needed.
• Process all documentation using computer systems, copiers, and scanners.
• Search for and replicate the appropriate internal criteria guidelines when necessary.
• Collaborate as part of a team to achieve turnaround times for designated activities.
• Keep the supervisor informed of any issues or delays.
• Continuously enhance job skills and knowledge of all company products and services, as well as customer concerns and needs, through ongoing training and self-directed learning.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Experience in any of the following fields is advantageous – CNA, Medical Assistant, Physical Therapy Aide, Workers’ Compensation, Medical Unit Claims Administrator, IME Coordinator, Medical Office Manager.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation or disability is a plus!
• A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Intermediate computer and internet proficiency (experience with programs such as MS Word, Outlook, and Excel).
• Basic understanding of and ability to interpret medical reports.
• Capability to research evidence-based guidelines.
• Comprehension of workflow guidelines and ability to adhere to them as required.
• Strong verbal, telephone, and written communication skills.
• High efficiency with the ability to maintain a swift workflow.
• Aptitude for learning, organizational skills, and capability to follow established systems and procedures.
• Strong time-management skills, along with planning and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Capacity to express empathy towards injured and/or disabled individuals.
• Customer service-oriented mindset.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday during first shift hours in the Central Time Zone.
