Mechatronic Design and Release Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Full ownership of components to achieve vehicle functional goals.

• Design, development, and packaging of components.

• Collaboration with PDO and Sciences on Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing.

• Management of changes.

• Maintenance of bill of materials.

• Support for prototype and production builds.

• Management of issues.

• CAD model management within Teamcenter.

• Initiatives focused on weight reduction, cost savings, and other efficiency enhancements.

• Communicating the technical status of products to management.

• Assisting vehicle assembly plants with any technical product issues.

• Supporting service teams with field warranty issues and conducting root cause analysis of failures.

• Collaborating with suppliers to ensure program and Electrical Development timelines and deliverables are met.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an MBA.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive components, specifically Roof Systems.

• Mechatronics experience in areas such as Manual Park Release, Active Damping Air Suspension, Switches, Sensors, Lighting, Seats, Outside Rearview Mirror, Power Hatch, Liftgate, Sunroof, and Power Top.

• Knowledge or experience with switches, electrical seat controls, sensors, and electrical functions, including electronic diagrams, software, and testing of mechatronics components (durability and thermal).

• Experience with commodities like infotainment, connectivity, and embedded systems is also beneficial.

• Proficiency with NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter.

• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

• Management of PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheets.

• Development of Electrical Module Hardware and Software.

• Creation and execution of DFMEA and DVP&R.

• Intermediate to advanced English skills for technical comprehension and communication with international teams.
