This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Offers support and reports to the designated Project Manager(s) or Project Director.
• This role involves regular interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals, and contractors.
• Directly assists the Project Manager(s) in overseeing, coordinating, and managing the project throughout all phases of design and construction, with a focus on leadership in electrical and mechanical system design.
• Responsible for delivering all aspects of client services at the highest quality to meet the client’s requirements, including providing technical guidance on concurrently maintainable electrical power and mechanical systems.
• Assists in the preparation of various documents (reports, schedules, invoices, RFI’s, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout, and client presentations) for programming, design, and construction, while also aiding in the management of information within project management software.
• Coordinates the scheduling of meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
• Communicates conceptual designs and creates/maintains project documentation throughout all stages of construction, including MEP design standards, basis of design updates, and OFCI equipment specifications.
• Maintains the Basis of Design, prototype designs, and template specifications for electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they align with changing business and operational needs.
• Reviews and provides feedback on design RFPs, including scope development for MEP engineering services.
• Manages external design consultants during the design and construction process, ensuring MEP contract documents are completed timely, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.
• Effectively communicates design standards to both internal and external project partners, including engineering and operations teams.
• Manages multiple fast-paced projects concurrently, providing strategic technical leadership across electrical and mechanical design efforts.
• Employs innovative thinking to discover solutions before and during construction, aiming to reduce costs without compromising quality, reliability, or energy efficiency.
• Supports procurement by reviewing vendor submittals, conducting factory witness testing, and evaluating OFCI equipment.
• Identifies and implements cutting-edge technologies to improve energy efficiency, system resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
• Stays updated with industry advancements and applies best practices to enhance functional operations and project outcomes.
• Communicates and enforces engineering and design policies throughout the organization.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Project Management on large-scale construction programs, including data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Proficient in MEP design, electrical and mechanical systems, and engineering leadership.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and the MS Office Suite.
• Experience overseeing the preparation and approval of MEP contract documents produced by third-party design consultants.
• Comprehensive understanding of concurrently maintainable electrical power systems, mechanical cooling systems, and OFCI equipment specifications.
• Exceptional presentation skills with the capability to excel in a client-facing role.
• Collaborative team player; able to work effectively across engineering, operations, procurement, and project management teams.
