MDS Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Definition and implementation of best practices for a Modern Data Stack architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and data quality.

• Migration and modernization of existing ETL/ELT processes (SQL, scripting, legacy tools) to modern analytical platforms and SQL-based transformation frameworks.

• Analysis, control, and cost optimization in cloud data warehouse platforms, identifying opportunities for performance and efficiency improvements.

• Refactoring and standardization of pipelines and data models, correcting poorly designed or suboptimal processes and aligning them with best practices of the Modern Data Stack.

• Technical documentation and creation of migration guides to facilitate the adoption of standards, knowledge transfer, and team autonomy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience in SQL, as you will be building and optimizing data pipelines, developing complex queries, and ensuring the integrity, quality, and performance of information.

• Experience in scripting (Unix, Shell, or other automation languages) to maintain, automate, and migrate existing ETL/ELT processes, integrating them efficiently with the data platform.

• Experience in cloud environments, working with modern architectures where scalability, security, and best practices are essential for the proper functioning of data pipelines.

• Practical experience in at least one key Modern Data Stack technology, such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or dbt (additional experience in more than one will be valued).

• Good communication and client-facing skills, as you will work closely with various stakeholders, understanding business needs and translating them into clear and effective technical solutions.
