This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Develop and sustain the MDM platform, encompassing entity resolution, match/merge rules, survivorship logic, and management of golden records.
• Create and enforce data models that cater to party, policy, and reference data domains across the organization.
• Design MDM hub configurations (registry, consolidation, or co-existence models) that align with AAIS’s operational framework.
• Construct and maintain MDM integration layers that connect source systems, the data lake/warehouse, and downstream consumers.
• Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and workflows in collaboration with Data Stewards and the Director of Data Solutions.
• Formulate data quality rules, profiling routines, and exception-handling workflows to ensure the integrity of master data across all jurisdictions.
• Keep business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation updated for all master data domains.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and escalation paths for data quality concerns.
• Analyze and assess source data to evaluate quality, completeness, atomicity, and referential integrity before MDM onboarding.
• Implement automated data quality monitoring and alerts to proactively detect master data anomalies and support tracking of data quality KPIs.
• Establish and monitor data quality KPIs and SLAs for critical master data domains.
• Design and develop data integration pipelines that supply the MDM platform from various source systems in batch and near-real-time formats.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT workflows utilizing cloud-native tools (AWS Glue, Step Functions) and integration platforms.
• Ensure the consistent application of master data identifiers and referential integrity throughout the data ecosystem.
• Support the wider Data Lake/Warehouse environment, contributing to data modeling, analytics engineering, and BI delivery as necessary.
• Work alongside the Data Engineering team to ensure MDM outputs are effectively integrated into reporting, analytics, and statistical data collection processes.
• Participate in Agile sprint planning, technical documentation, and peer code review activities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a relevant field.
• Over 5 years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years concentrated on MDM platform development and data governance.
• Proven experience managing MDM implementations from start to finish, including data model design, match/merge tuning, and integration delivery.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and profiling methodologies.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Experience in property and casualty insurance or other regulated industries is advantageous.
• Bonus: Experience with statistical data, Actuarial models, or licensed statistical agent environments.
• Up to 5% travel for annual company gatherings or team sessions.
