Marketing and Communications Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist in advancing FSC’s Chain of Custody certification and Promotional Licence Holder programme throughout India.

• Collaborate with businesses, industry associations, and institutions to establish action-oriented partnerships that encourage responsible sourcing of forest products.

• Perform market research across various forest-based value chains, including wood, pulp and paper, packaging, natural rubber, bamboo, and other forest products.

• Create training and awareness programmes for potential clients regarding Chain of Custody and Promotional Licence Agreements.

• Support and engage in value chain-specific events, exhibitions, consultations, and expos.

• Develop periodic Forest Markets Analysis Reports that provide insights into forest-based value chains, encompassing policy, trade, and economic aspects.

• Facilitate stakeholder engagement to strengthen relationships with FSC India’s existing and potential certificate holders.

• Produce engaging communication materials such as brochures, articles, podcasts, newsletters, and digital content that highlight FSC’s initiatives.

• Oversee FSC India’s LinkedIn and Instagram platforms, enhancing interaction with diverse audiences.

• Assist in the commissioning and upkeep of the FSC India website and Google Business profile.

• Help coordinate Value Chain Development events and other initiatives led by the team.

• Contribute to administrative and procurement tasks in accordance with FSC’s policies and procedures.

• Provide assistance with additional marketing and communications activities as directed by the Deputy Country Director.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of professional experience in marketing, communications, sustainability, or a related field.

• A graduate or postgraduate degree in forestry, sustainability, marketing, science, rural development, journalism, mass communication, agriculture, or a closely related discipline.

• Familiarity with at least one forest-based value chain such as paper and packaging, wood, bamboo, natural rubber, or fashion and textiles.

• Experience in crafting compelling content on sustainability, responsible sourcing, forestry, or related topics.

• Ability to work comfortably with diverse, cross-functional, and multi-country teams.

• Willingness to travel within India and occasionally internationally.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
