Market Analyst – Dairy Protein Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Monitor and assess the markets for high protein whey (WPC, WPI, functional whey ingredients) and high protein milk (concentrated milk, MPC/MPI).

• Analyze global supply and demand trends, trade movements, and pricing patterns throughout the dairy protein sectors to create Ever.Ag’s proprietary pricing series.

• Identify the main factors influencing protein markets, such as milk composition trends, processing capacities, and end-use demands (sports nutrition, food manufacturing, etc.).

• Generate forward-looking insights regarding protein market trends, volatility risks, and pricing forecasts.

• Construct and maintain analytical tools and models to support forecasts in the high protein dairy market.

• Collaborate closely with senior analysts and data teams to refine methodologies and enhance forecasting precision.

• Analyze crucial datasets (production, inventories, trade, pricing) and convert them into actionable insights.

• Ensure the consistency, integrity, and transparency of all data outputs.

• Oversee the creation and distribution of a monthly client-facing publication focused on dairy protein markets, including proprietary price series and forecasts.

• Contribute to written analyses and market outlook reports.

• Prepare and present charts, visualizations, and slide-ready materials for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide support for cross-commodity analyses involving cheese, butter, NFDM/SMP, and whey markets as required.

• Respond to ad hoc requests for research from clients and internal teams.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry participants in the high protein commodity markets (buyers, sellers, processors).

• Assist client discussions with timely insights, data, and market context.

• Identify opportunities for new business, renewals, and value-added services.

• Work collaboratively with sales and leadership to broaden Ever.Ag’s influence in dairy protein intelligence.

• Partner across functions with analysts, economists, and data teams to improve the delivery of insights.

• Contribute to the advancement of Ever.Ag’s protein market coverage and analytical capabilities.

• Document processes and promote enhancements in research workflows and tools.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in buying/selling high protein commodities and/or analyzing high protein dairy markets.

• Strong understanding of high protein whey markets and/or high protein milk markets is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, modeling).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses.

• Familiarity with dairy commodity markets (cheese, butter, NFDM/SMP, whey) is essential.
