This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Conduct thorough investigations and analyses of admiralty claims, including loss evaluations, witness statements, examinations under oath, and background investigations.
• Assess loss sites to establish loss estimates.
• Document the circumstances surrounding injuries or damages and evaluate their nature and type.
• Carry out onsite inspections, including photographic and document reviews, to determine the cause of loss and applicable coverage.
• Interview involved parties and compile written or recorded statements to facilitate settlement discussions and outline subsequent steps.
• Create comprehensive reports for internal adjusters and external clients.
• Execute and analyze formal background checks pertinent to claims, providing clients with the results.
• Manage medical claims under P&I coverage from inception to resolution.
• Request and assess medical documentation and records, considering long-term medical needs in relation to maintenance and cure.
• Oversee shipping and seaman lost-wage claims, determining suitable compensation.
• Contribute to quality assurance programs.
• Travel as necessary.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or a similar combination of education and experience is necessary.
• In-depth knowledge of complex marine inspections and failures.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting insurance policies.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, including presentation skills.
• Proficient in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical and interpretive capabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
• Strong negotiation capabilities.
• Competency in producing comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

• Willingness to inspect loss sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Availability for travel as needed.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
• Physical capability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, reach, and work overhead.
• Capacity to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to drive for up to 4 hours per day.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• A private investigator license, Class C investigator's license, or completion of Class C concealed carry license/course is preferred.
