Manual Tester – 6 month FTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conducting comprehensive testing of developed web applications against specified requirements across various desktop browsers and mobile devices, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and a smooth user experience in all environments.

• Implementing and enhancing test automation skills by learning and utilizing low-code and no-code UI-based tools as part of your testing duties.

• Diligently documenting and tracking issues to guarantee clarity and resolution, while maintaining effective communication with development teams and stakeholders to accelerate troubleshooting and fixes.

• Developing and maintaining detailed test documentation as required, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts, to support repeatability and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to efficiently address issues, providing essential feedback, and participating in defect triage meetings to prioritize issues based on their impact and urgency.

• Consistently monitoring test progress in line with release schedules, while effectively prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality or thoroughness.

• Assessing test environments and processes to encourage continuous improvements and uphold high-quality standards, actively proposing enhancements to testing strategies and tools that align with changing project requirements.

• Aiding the team by providing accurate estimates for testing efforts, contributing to realistic project planning and resource allocation to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in QA, including testing web-based applications, executing cross-browser functional testing, and a strong understanding of bug tracking and reporting tools, alongside proficiency in writing detailed test cases.

• Strong working knowledge of test automation, ideally with Selenium WebDriver.

• Previous experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve testing efficiency.

• Familiarity with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) practices.

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support each phase of the testing lifecycle.

• Ability to think quickly and adapt under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent organizational abilities, essential for close collaboration with developers and key stakeholders.

• Experience working within an Agile team environment.

• Comfortable and efficient working across both PC and Mac platforms.

• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
