This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Assess the quality, creativity, coherence, originality, adherence to prompts, and musical context of AI-generated lyrics.
• Identify awkward phrasing, repetitive language, weak imagery, unnatural expressions, and inconsistencies in style.
• Compare AI-generated lyrics against published songs and reference materials to evaluate similarities and potential derivative patterns.
• Analyze Mandarin vocabulary, slang, colloquial expressions, regional usage, idiomatic language, and cultural authenticity.
• Evaluate lyrics in relation to intended genres, musical styles, audience, tone, and performance context.
• Consistently apply detailed evaluation guidelines to AI-generated outputs.
• Deliver clear ratings and structured written feedback.
• Detect recurring model weaknesses related to language, creativity, originality, and cultural nuances.
• Contribute specialized music and language expertise to enhance generative AI systems.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Strong capability to comprehend detailed written instructions in English.
• Professional background as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, music journalist, or in a closely related music profession.
• In-depth knowledge of the Mandarin-language music scene.
• Excellent understanding of natural Mandarin phrasing, slang, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances.
• Strong analytical judgment when assessing lyrical quality and originality.
• Access to headphones or studio monitors that are suitable for critical listening.
• Broad familiarity with contemporary Mandarin-language genres, sub-genres, and artists.
• Ability to work independently and apply detailed evaluation criteria consistently.
• Formal training in music performance, theory, composition, or songwriting is a plus.
• Credited or published songwriting work is highly regarded.
• Applicants may be required to complete a Mandarin Chinese bilingual competency assessment during onboarding.
• Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
