• Oversee and assist with tax due diligence and integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including detailed management of step-by-step plans and coordination with both internal teams and external advisors.
• Take ownership of the quarterly and annual corporate income tax provision related to M&A activities, encompassing discontinued operations, held-for-sale entities, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rate analysis in accordance with ASC 740.
• Evaluate and convey the tax implications of M&A transactions on reported and projected effective tax rates, clearly isolating impacts driven by transactions.
• Collaborate with the Global Accounting team to integrate tax accounting considerations of transactions utilizing OneSource Tax Provision, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and relevant local regulations.
• Assist in establishing tax functions for newly acquired or separated entities, which includes tax provision processes, SOX 404 controls, ERP tax setup, and frameworks for indirect tax compliance.
• Review consolidated and subsidiary income tax returns as well as workpapers prepared by external advisors, which includes return-to-provision analyses and validations of tax basis balance sheets.
• Keep abreast of changes in US GAAP, SEC guidance, and tax legislation, ensuring prompt incorporation into tax provision, reporting, and planning processes.
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and financial statement auditors, acting as a key technical resource on M&A tax issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field; a Master’s in Taxation or Accounting is an advantage.
• Over 7 years of progressive tax experience, including tax accounting and M&A, with a blend of Big 4 and in-house experience at a US-based multinational public company.
• Strong proficiency in ASC 740 tax accounting for US GAAP reporting.
• Proven experience in supporting acquisitions, divestitures, and other complex transactions from a tax accounting viewpoint.
• Familiarity with tax accounting systems and ERP platforms, particularly OneSource Tax Provision.
• Demonstrated capability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a hands-on, solution-focused approach.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and the wider organization.
