Manager, Subcontracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Assist in subcontract management, document preparation, cross-functional communication, and data entry for the Military Engines Contracts Management Organization.

• Act as the subcontracting lead for the development of supplier RFPs, negotiations, subcontract agreements, execution, and daily administration.

• Ensure supplier adherence to prime contract terms, FAR/DFARS flow-downs, and company policies.

• Oversee subcontract scope, funding, delivery timelines, changes, and modifications.

• Evaluate supplier proposals for completeness, accuracy, compliance, and alignment with prime contract stipulations.

• Facilitate the resolution of subcontract-related issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Assist in fact-finding, price/cost analysis, and negotiations with suppliers.

• Prepare statements of work, amendments, change orders, and other related subcontract documents.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Program Counsel.

• Provide leadership, expertise, and innovative solutions to complex problems while working autonomously.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in subcontract or contract management; or an Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience in subcontract or contract management.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, including government subcontracting requirements.

• Experience in preparing, evaluating, and negotiating supplier proposals.

• Strong analytical skills, document drafting capabilities, and negotiation expertise.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Understanding of aerospace business and legal matters.

• Familiarity with CORE process improvement tools.

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
