• Your Role at a Glance: The Manager of Strategic Partnerships is tasked with effectively managing Mastercam’s relationships with external companies across various sectors. This position emphasizes the development, implementation, and optimization of programs aimed at boosting Mastercam’s market presence and revenue growth, while maintaining and enhancing mutually beneficial partnerships with hardware manufacturers, software developers, academic institutions, and other significant collaborators.
• Key responsibilities encompass overseeing partnership programs, cultivating alliances with partners, offering insights into Mastercam’s “partner to acquire” pipeline, and reporting on the overall effectiveness of the programs.
• This role necessitates a proven collaborative approach alongside the sales, marketing, product development, and customer success teams to ensure alignment between partnership initiatives and Mastercam’s overarching business objectives.
• How You’ll Drive Success in Partnerships & Alliances: Identify and establish partnerships with hardware manufacturers, software developers, academic institutions, and other key players within the manufacturing sector to enhance Mastercam’s market strategies, revenue, and positioning.
• Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to optimize mutual benefits and revenue potential.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate partner solutions with Mastercam’s offerings, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
• Identify opportunities and formulate plans for collaboration on new projects and programs with strategic partners to boost Mastercam’s market standing and growth.
• Provide investment opportunities (joint ventures, minority shares, grant funding, acquisitions, etc.) to colleagues in Corporate Development as part of Mastercam’s “partner to acquire” pipeline.
• Assist the Corporate Development team in pinpointing cross-business unit collaborations within the Sandvik network.
• Program Development & Execution: Create and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy that aligns with Mastercam’s business objectives, including initiatives for third-party developers, OEMs, academic research, and other focal areas.
• Monitor and assess partnership program performance, supplying regular updates to senior management.
• Develop business cases to justify funding for partner programs, projects, and events.
• Gather, analyze, and report feedback from partners regarding their satisfaction, engagement, and use of Mastercam’s partner programs.
• Identify avenues for improvement and growth within the partnership programs.
• Offer guidance to the myMastercam and Customer Success teams in creating self-service portals, tools, resources, and information to enhance engagement and utilization of various partner programs.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and backing for partnership initiatives.
• Develop and disseminate announcements regarding strategic partnerships and programs to both internal and external stakeholders, fostering awareness of Mastercam’s robust partnership network.
• Create and present materials to potential partners using various formats including live presentations, webinars, pre-recorded videos, emails, newsletters, and social media in conjunction with marketing to enhance program visibility and impact.
• Communicate effectively with partners, delivering clear guidance and support to facilitate their success.
• Represent Mastercam at industry events, trade shows, and partner meetings to advocate for partnerships and build relationships.
• Be a vital part of the Mastercam Corporate Development team, leveraging industry insights and expertise to support Mastercam's inorganic growth strategies, including involvement in business development, M&A, and integration efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business field or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in program management, partnerships, or a related role within the CAD/CAM software industry or a similar technology sector.
• Demonstrated success in managing partner programs and strategic partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing industry, CAD/CAM software, CNC Machining, and related hardware.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, with a strong capability to execute and lead projects to successful conclusions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Effective time management skills and a successful track record of working effectively within a team environment.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills, capable of providing accurate and timely information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel as necessary, including internationally.
