This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of Engineers by conducting one-on-ones, performance evaluations, recruitment, and career development in a distributed and remote-friendly setting.
• Take ownership of the technical roadmap for shared cloud infrastructure on both Azure and AWS, balancing reliability initiatives with long-term platform enhancements.
• Establish and uphold standards for infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes), documentation, and operational readiness.
• Make informed technical decisions and trade-offs regarding application-layer infrastructure, including Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and Redis, while serving as the escalation point for the team.
• Facilitate sprint planning, manage dependencies across teams, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Lead post-incident reviews and ensure that all follow-up actions are addressed.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to maintain current FedRAMP and SOC 2 controls.
• Act as the primary engineering contact, working alongside Development, Product, and Security teams to translate their needs into platform priorities.
• Represent the team during architecture reviews and planning discussions with leadership.
• Utilize and advocate for AI-assisted tools, including LLM-based automation and AI-driven observability within engineering workflows.
• Over 8 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a direct management role.
• Practical experience with Azure and/or AWS — including Kubernetes, microservices, and foundational cloud security concepts (PIM, RBAC, JIT privilege elevation, among others).
• Proven track record of implementing and managing critical production-level SaaS products with high availability demands, focusing on technologies such as Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
• Familiarity with or experience in FedRAMP-authorized environments.
• Proficient in articulating technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience using Azure DevOps.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical ideas for non-technical audiences.
