This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Plan, lead, and/or conduct second party QMS audits to ensure compliance with the 91XX and ISO series of standards, RTX and business unit policies & procedures, as well as regulatory and customer requirements across RTX locations.
• Execute formal duties as a lead auditor, including coordinating audit planning with the EQA audit planner, representing the audit team during interactions with site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings, and holding daily debriefs with site personnel.
• Verify that processes, products, and services adhere to internal standards, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
• Prepare and distribute comprehensive audit reports that detail findings, non-conformances, and review, approve, and ensure the effective implementation of corrective actions.
• May assist RTX Certification bodies during site surveillance and recertification audits, which includes managing audit schedules, logistics, and the resolution of corrective actions.
• May contribute to special projects related to audits as necessary.
• Assist in analyzing audit performance to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing improvement.
• Leverage data analytics to aid in thorough audit preparation and planning based on both historical and current performance data.
• Collaborate closely with regional leads of the EQA team and Ops Excellence lead to coordinate the audit schedule, ensuring that all RTX sites are audited according to plan.
• Build cooperative relationships with functional and business leaders to foster a transformative quality organization that aligns with business goals.
• Engage in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings to evaluate and approve/reject formal corrective actions.
• Assist with special audits (e.g., suspensions, significant customer complaints, high-risk sites, etc.), independent assessments, and site certifications as required by RTX business units.
• Generally requires a University Degree, or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance, including a minimum of 3 years in QMS auditing within the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.
• Knowledge of the 91XX series and ISO9001 standards.
• Possession of an AATT (Aerospace Auditor Transition Training) Certification (proof is required).
• Current authenticated Lead Audit certification (proof is required).
• Capability to achieve certification within one year as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
