This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

• Lead and mentor a team of data developers, promoting technical excellence and encouraging professional development.

• Establish and uphold standards for data architecture, best practices, and governance frameworks.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and product teams to convert business needs into scalable data solutions.

• Ensure compliance with data quality, security, privacy, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA as appropriate).

• Create and sustain documentation for data engineering architecture, including design specifications, data flow diagrams, and interface guidelines.

• Oversee and troubleshoot data engineering processes, pinpointing and resolving issues to guarantee reliable and efficient data flow.

• Provide consistent updates and reports to senior management regarding data engineering projects, including status, risks, and opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).

• Prior experience in data architecture or data engineering (equivalent to 8+ years of experience).

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing technical teams.

• Over 5 years of practical experience with DBT/Python, Talend, and Snowflake/Databricks in a production environment.

• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with database technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Proficiency in data modeling, database design (SQL/NoSQL), and data integration frameworks.

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).

• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
