This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Draft, assess, and promote educational legislation and regulatory proposals.
• Track and interpret legislative and administrative changes affecting education policy.
• Formulate and implement legislative strategies, including direct interactions with legislators, their staff, and officials from the executive branch.
• Create policy memoranda, talking points, testimonies, and legislative summaries.
• Oversee and coordinate coalitions focused on education freedom, supporting initiatives like microschools and parental rights efforts.
• Act as a primary contact for coalition partners, ensuring alignment on priorities, messaging, and strategies.
• Organize coalition meetings, briefings, and collaborative advocacy initiatives.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with nonprofits, community leaders, policymakers, and funders.
• Identify and engage new partners, including nontraditional allies, to enhance impact.
• Transform policy priorities—especially parental rights and education transparency—into clear and persuasive messaging for policymakers, partners, and the public.
• Write op-eds, policy briefs, reports, and materials for public distribution.
• Draft communications for supporters, partners, and policymakers.
• Coordinate messaging across coalitions and internal teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
• Assist in digital and social media initiatives to broaden reach and engagement.
• Build and mobilize grassroots networks to advocate for educational initiatives.
• Conduct targeted outreach to families and communities seeking expanded educational options.
• Devise strategies to enhance awareness of parental rights and available educational pathways.
• Provide guidance and resources to individuals interested in microschools and alternative education models.
• Support development efforts through donor engagement, grant assistance, and strategic communications.
• Aid in cultivating relationships with philanthropic partners and aligned funders.
• Contribute to proposals and reports that showcase program impact and growth.
• Ideally, 4+ years of experience in education policy, legislative processes, and advocacy strategy.
• However, open to candidates with 2+ years of experience if they are the right fit.
• Experience in coalition building, stakeholder engagement, or public policy is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex ideas clearly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Experience in engaging communities and fostering broad-based support for policy initiatives.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently in a remote setting.
• Tech-savvy and proficient with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and communication platforms.
• Philosophically aligned with the principles of liberty, free markets, limited government, and the essential role of parents in guiding their children's education.

• Travel: In-state and DMV travel required; occasional evening/weekend commitments; ability to travel up to 15% of the time
