This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic direction and oversee the daily management of employee benefits and leave of absence programs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five professionals specializing in benefits and leave management.
• Set performance expectations and offer ongoing coaching along with professional development opportunities.
• Manage staffing strategies, workload allocation, and succession planning.
• Supervise the administration of health and welfare benefits, including enrollments, life events, status changes, terminations, and annual enrollment processes.
• Collaborate with vendors, Total Rewards, Payroll, HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Legal, and Finance teams.
• Oversee FMLA, ADA, disability, state, military, workers' compensation, and corporate leave programs.
• Manage complex leave cases and provide guidance on accommodations and interactive processes.
• Track leave metrics, case timelines, return-to-work initiatives, and benefit retro payments.
• Ensure adherence to benefits and leave laws, regulations, policies, and audit requirements.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, audit controls, confidentiality, and information security protocols.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and enhance Workday and vendor platforms.
• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures, workflows, and knowledge resources.
• Manage vendor performance and set service delivery expectations.
• Support organizational initiatives and projects related to employee benefits and leave programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, leave administration, or HR operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, and state leave regulations.
• Proficient in working with Workday.
• Experience in managing third-party leave administrators and benefits vendors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
• Experience with healthcare or multi-state employers is preferred.
• Project management and process improvement experience is preferred.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, hear, and walk; capable of lifting and/or moving objects up to 25 pounds.
