This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the narrative behind the figures – Prepare and refine quarterly and year-end financial statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) that withstand capital-markets examination and articulate each client's growth story.
• Manage the operations of multi-entity groups – Develop robust consolidation and foreign-currency translation models that simplify intricate structures.
• Transform data into actionable insights – Provide precise analyses of balance sheets and profit & loss statements, highlighting trends and significant variances before they become apparent to others.
• Keep leadership focused on priorities – Generate monthly variance reports compared to forecasts and annual plans, translating results into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Shape the strategic direction – Direct annual budgets and rolling forecasts, aligning stakeholders around objectives that drive the business forward without compromising stability.
• Act as the “extra brain” – Manage special-project bookkeeping or period-end closing entries when clients require the precision and speed of a fractional controller.
• Simplify the audit process – Create year-end audit plans, prepare solid support documentation, and lead discussions with external auditors, ensuring CEOs and CFOs can rest easy.
• Navigate technical complexities – Address intricate issues such as acquisitions, stock-based compensation, debt/equity splits, consolidations, and translations—packaging them into clear disclosures.
• Ensure continuous compliance – Stay informed about regulatory changes, draft timely filings, and guarantee that nothing falls through the cracks on SEDAR+ or EDGAR.
• CPA designation is mandatory.
• Extensive experience in public company audits and/or financial reporting, preferably with small to mid-sized product-based firms.
• Once the fundamental experience criteria are satisfied, we prioritize hiring individuals who are strong analytical thinkers and problem solvers.
• Proficiency in US GAAP.
• COSO Internal Control Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of corporate income tax.
• No-Strings Learning Fund – We cover 100% of your CPA modules, annual dues, and any professional development courses you select—and we won’t reclaim it if you decide to move on.
• Flexibility Over Face-Time – Control your deadlines and design your schedule. Take a midday workout or handle the school run—just deliver the results.
• Day-One Peace of Mind – Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and parental leave benefits begin as soon as you join.
