Manager, Data Scientist – Engagement & Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create and implement machine learning models aimed at personalizing outreach, utilizing techniques such as contextual bandits, reinforcement learning, and classification methods.

• Develop AI agents that produce dynamic, tailored nudge content and conversational interventions.

• Design and assess large-scale A/B tests and experimentation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of ML models, data-driven signals, nudges, and content strategies. Establish success metrics and uphold statistically rigorous experimentation practices.

• Collaborate on the creation of data pipelines and event schemas that supply the product, ensuring high-quality data for both real-time decision-making and offline analysis.

• Establish and execute comprehensive monitoring frameworks for the product, including short-term engagement metrics, long-term retention, opt-out rates, and intervention fatigue.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the team of data scientists. Set technical direction, guarantee high-quality outputs, and promote strong collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related discipline;

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied AI positions;

• At least 3 years of experience managing people, leading, and developing data science teams;

• Strong expertise in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., Vowpal Wabbit, PyTorch, or similar);

• Solid foundation in experimentation, A/B testing, and large-scale experimentation design and analysis;

• Experience with Generative AI systems in production settings;

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to translate product objectives into measurable, data-driven solutions;

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams.
