Manager, Data Center Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, fit-out, and commission white space across both owned and colocation sites: including PDUs, CDUs, busway, in-row cooling, and high-density power solutions.

• Build and manage the smart hands and break-fix teams.

• Oversee a multi-site portfolio through various stages: build, commission, ramp-up, and live operation.

• Ensure that vendors and integrators adhere to schedules and specifications: including Supermicro, NVIDIA, cooling vendors, cable plant subcontractors, and the general contractor.

• Take ownership of the technical decisions regarding white space: including rack layout, cooling topology, cable infrastructure, power redundancy, and serviceability.

• Collaborate with the network engineering team on InfiniBand and interconnects.

• Develop scalable standards, so that by the time we reach site #10, your presence is not required on every commissioning call.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience deploying over 10MW of data center capacity.

• Proven ownership of architecture and design for interconnected supercomputing and HPC clusters.

• Possess negotiation skills comparable to a Turkish bazaar carpet seller.

• Capable of building the organization that expedites our progress to a gigawatt.

• Type A personality with an operations background; thrives in chaotic environments where nothing slips through the cracks.

• Comfortable working with ambitious deadlines and the associated discomfort.

• Familiar with every relevant OEM and colocation provider.

• Informed about current market conditions: including who has capacity, who is overbooked, who is at risk of falling behind, and the pricing of power in all significant regions.
