Manager, Cyber Threat Researcher, Cyber Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop strategies to "connect the dots" across various domains to amalgamate data signals that automatically identify cyber threats within fraud and advanced enterprise threat activities.

• Maintain extensive knowledge of the current cyber threat landscape and associated attack vectors across the industry.

• Integrate diverse data sets from sources like malware, cyber attack patterns, and both closed and open-source intelligence to guide instrumentation, detections, and threat narratives such as storyboards.

• Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams to provide context, influence, and inform Capital One’s business units about emerging threats.

• Present investigative findings, including technical architecture context and conclusions, to various audiences, including senior leadership and business partners within the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology.

• At least 4 years of experience in incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence, forensics, or offensive security.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience investigating cyber-enabled fraud, cybercrime, or advanced persistent threats.

• At least 2 years of experience in programming or scripting (Python, Perl, PHP, PowerShell).

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

• Over 6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology is preferred.

• More than 6 years of experience in incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence, forensics, or offensive security is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.

• More than 3 years of experience in a highly regulated industry (financial sector, financial technology, healthcare, or intelligence community) is preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience using Generative and Agentic AI tools is preferred.
