Manager, Credit Risk Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage credit strategies that are in line with Octane’s risk appetite.

• Evaluate origination and loan performance data to create effective underwriting strategies that promote responsible lending and improve portfolio profitability.

• Conduct advanced data analytics and provide guidance on underwriting strategies related to loan origination, loan amount allocation, and loan pricing.

• Collaborate across Tech, Product, Sales, and Finance teams to execute credit product initiatives and refine existing credit strategies.

• Take ownership of credit policy documentation and improve policies and processes to reduce credit risk exposure.

• Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to gain insights into the credit lifecycle.

• Ensure quality control and validation for risk management processes.

• Work with the portfolio risk team to monitor credit performance and manage the portfolio within the established risk appetite.

• Generate business insights and present proposals to C-level executives and external partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, econometrics, decision sciences, or engineering (advanced degree is preferred).

• In-depth understanding of consumer credit and the lending lifecycle.

• Over 4 years of experience in credit analysis, including familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Excel.

• Proven ability to transform analyses from raw data into refined recommendations and to convey complex, technical findings to diverse audiences.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
