This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.
• Contribute to the development of a robust Assurance framework within the Compliance department.
• Provide assurance to the Senior Management of Compliance regarding the effectiveness of the Compliance Program.
• Collaborate with various Compliance verticals to ensure the effective functioning of internal controls.
• Oversee key compliance risks to ensure adherence to regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Proactively and promptly escalate any critical issues within Compliance and/or the Business to prevent investigations, charges, fines, or public criticism from regulatory authorities.
• Monitor adherence to planned training submitted by ECFs and coordinate with them to integrate learnings from periodic assessments/regulatory updates into training materials as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree with over 10 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 5 years in Financial Crime, particularly in Sanctions Compliance.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of local AML/CFT regulations and legislation, along with international best practices and requirements.
• Excellent and current knowledge of International/OFAC/EU/UN Sanctions.
• Technical proficiency in Screening Filters used for customer screening, payments filtering, and Transaction Monitoring Systems.
• ACAMS Certification or another recognized certification.
• Organizational awareness with a working knowledge of risks, products, processes, and controls.
• Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Excel and Compliance systems.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Assist in the development and implementation of an effective independent Quality Assurance framework across the Compliance Function, including international locations.
• Conduct periodic reviews as part of monitoring and testing to ensure compliance with the Bank’s internal procedures and policies, providing guidance as necessary.
• Perform independent validation of Compliance Systems (Screening, Payment, and Transaction Monitoring systems).
• Track the implementation of recommendations and regularization of any exceptions identified during periodic assessments.
• Share insights and best practices.
• Provide necessary guidance to other compliance units in finalizing relevant procedures for their respective areas.
• Assist the Head Office Compliance in the annual review and update of Compliance Policies, including the Bank’s AML, KYC, Sanction, and ABC Policies.
• Foster a positive compliance culture throughout the Bank. Monitor adherence to planned training submitted by ECFs and work with them to ensure the incorporation of learnings from periodic assessments/regulatory updates into training materials as needed.
• Support the Unit Manager and Group Head of Compliance in implementing strategic initiatives.
• Represent Compliance in any project as directed by the Unit Manager or Head of Compliance.
