This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Take ownership of the market by building and leading a high-performing team with extensive expertise across designated states.
• Cultivate a robust understanding of market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and competitive positioning.
• Generate Strategic Insights: Provide actuarial insights that guide rate modifications and key business initiatives, including assessing pricing for both new and existing rating variables and coverages.
• Quantify & Forecast Impact: Evaluate the effects of rate and non-rate actions on both top-line and bottom-line performance, and predict how product modifications, economic trends, and market changes will impact profitability and rate sufficiency.
• Lead with Data: Convert intricate data into straightforward, data-driven recommendations, utilizing sound actuarial judgment.
• Technical Excellence: Utilize advanced SQL skills to effectively extract, manipulate, and analyze data across various systems.
• Supervise and contribute to intricate quantitative analyses and modeling projects.
• Ensure Quality & Accountability: Independently verify analyses through reasonability assessments and error detection.
• Guarantee that your team consistently produces accurate, high-quality work.
• Communicate & Influence: Present findings and strategic recommendations clearly to peers, business partners, and senior leadership.
• Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the organization.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work alongside cross-functional teams to align actuarial strategies with broader business objectives.
• Identify and implement improvements in processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop Talent: Mentor, coach, and support your direct reports.
• Contribute to the growth and development of junior actuarial staff across the wider function.
• A minimum of 7 years of actuarial or related experience.
• ACAS designation or nearing completion.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional expertise in a specialized area.
• Strong actuarial, analytical, and programming skills (proficiency in SQL is required).
• Proven ability to execute and oversee complex analyses and projects.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating with business partners and senior leadership.
• Strong organizational abilities with a capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
