Major Project Technician 2 – Power Generator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in a diverse array of projects, such as large-scale events, utility clients, and refinery turnaround teams.

• Install, commission, service, and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution systems, HVAC units, and/or OFA systems.

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions on Major Projects and within service centers.

• Calculate both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements utilizing mathematical formulas.

• Interpret and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

• Stay informed about and advocate for safe working conditions in alignment with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.

• Collaborate with a remote operations center to mitigate failures and devise proactive failure notifications and compliance strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Over 8 years of experience working on power generators, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

• Electrical Generating System Association technician certification or other relevant certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

• Proficient in using multi-meters, amp meters, and hygrometers.

• May need to obtain and sustain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card depending on customer requirements.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Capability to move or lift items, typically weighing less than 75 lbs.

• Willingness to adhere to assigned schedules, travel to work locations, and remain on standby outside of regular shifts.

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and traverse uneven terrain with functional balance.

• Capacity to move limbs and spine through a functional range of motion to safely work from ground/floor level to overhead level.

• Good finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and grip strength.

• Ability to meet physical demands safely and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes lifting 60 lbs., pushing/pulling 80 lbs., carrying 60 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, and climbing while carrying 15 lbs.
