Major Gifts Officer – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main representative for major gifts, managing a portfolio of 100-150 major gift donors for the organization.

• Achieve a minimum of $3M in annual charitable contributions, including both financial and planned gifts to support K-LOVE ministries.

• Engage in every stage of the donor pipeline, which includes identification, qualification through research, cultivation, briefing, solicitation, and ensuring timely follow-up, stewardship, and recognition.

• Create tailored strategies for individual donors aimed at renewing and upgrading their contributions.

• Facilitate the transition of donors towards solicitation and closure in a suitable and timely manner.

• Provide ongoing stewardship to these donors by keeping them informed about ministry activities, the impact of their contributions, and ways to deepen their involvement with K-LOVE’s mission of sharing the message and love of Christ.

• Work alongside the Donor Engagement and Program teams to strengthen donor relationships and enhance fundraising and outreach opportunities.

• Take part in the departmental portfolio review process and help maintain an organized system for donor stewardship by updating constituent records as needed.

• Occasionally engage in regional and national events involving assigned portfolio donors.

• Ensure that all calls, events, stewardship contacts, and information collected during these activities are documented in the donor's data record.

• Actively participate in Staff Meetings, Summits, and Retreats.

• Follow guidelines and administrative processes, including submitting expense reimbursements, invoices, and contact reports.

• Perform other duties as assigned to further the goals of K-LOVE ministries.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in donor development and fundraising specifically in major and planned gift solicitations, or relevant client relations/development experience in similar sectors, with the ability to excel in major and planned gift solicitations.

• Proven ability to listen to and comprehend the goals, interests, and passions of major gift donors.

• Strong time management skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• In-depth understanding of planned giving and its complexities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, is advantageous.

• Capable of working strategically, setting priorities, defining goals and outcomes, detailing tactics, and overseeing execution.

• A flexible, collaborative, and proactive individual who can lead, work in a team environment, and operate independently.

• Ability to handle and complete various tasks simultaneously while paying close attention to detail and prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines, excelling in a fast-paced setting.

• Excellent interpersonal abilities to forge strong relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate ministry donors.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

• A dynamic professional with a proven capacity to engage and influence philanthropic leaders.

• Commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability in interactions with donors and prospects, as well as in marketing and reporting.

• High level of discretion and an ethical approach to fundraising.

• Dedication to fostering excellent relationships with colleagues throughout the organization.

• Ability to mentor team members and support their spiritual and professional growth, leading by example.
