This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take charge of the Visual Gateway: Deliver features that represent the first impression for millions of users when they access our applications.
• Enhance Systematic Quality: Boost the reliability and speed of our experimentation systems, ensuring that our visual tests are both statistically valid and high-performing.
• Expand Discovery: Develop components that enable us to customize the 'look and feel' of the platform, beyond just the content listings.
• Feature & Component Oversight: Design and implement tailored solutions for Multi-Armed Bandit (MAB) systems and visual feature pipelines.
• Independent Delivery: Manage the complete implementation of specified tasks, from data ingestion through to production deployment, with a moderate level of autonomy.
• System Enhancement: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in team systems to enhance quality, reliability, or engineering throughput.
• Collaborative Quality Assurance: Engage actively in design and code reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring high technical standards within your area of responsibility.
• Data-Driven Implementation: Establish and oversee online experiments (A/B tests and bandit rollouts) to evaluate the effect of presentation features on user engagement.
• Over 3 years of experience in machine learning engineering or backend software engineering.
• Proven Track Record: Experience in independently owning and delivering technical features or components.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Data Skills: Strong capabilities in SQL and experience with distributed data processing tools (e.g., Spark or Databricks).
• Engineering Discipline: Familiarity with version control, CI/CD practices, and the ability to write production-quality, maintainable code.
• Understanding of Multi-Armed Bandits or Reinforcement Learning principles.
• Background in Computer Vision or image processing technologies.
• Experience in high-scale streaming or e-commerce environments.
• Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
