This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• You will create AI systems that streamline the handling of disputes and chargebacks by utilizing structured evidence and business logic, enhancing our customers' experience.
• You will develop models that expedite refunds, ensuring our customers receive their money back more quickly.
• You will construct and manage evidence extraction pipelines that convert unstructured data into structured, actionable outputs using LLM-powered workflows.
• You will prototype innovative modeling concepts, conduct offline experiments, and implement the most effective strategies into production with appropriate risk management.
• You will work collaboratively with Engineering, Servicing Operations, Product, and ML Platform teams to define requirements, assess trade-offs, and clearly communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You have over 2 years of experience as a machine learning engineer.
• You possess strong Python skills and have experience in writing production-grade code.
• You have experience in building and assessing models for tabular classification tasks, preferably using gradient-boosted decision trees like LightGBM, XGBoost, or CatBoost.
• You have worked with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), covering aspects such as structured extraction, prompt engineering, and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
• You are familiar with processing documents and unstructured data (including PDF/image extraction, text parsing, or similar tasks).
• You have experience with ML lifecycle tools for training orchestration, experimentation, and model monitoring (e.g., Kubeflow, Airflow, MLflow, or equivalent internal platforms).
• You are proficient in utilizing AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to enhance iteration, debugging, and code quality in your daily development practices.
• You excel at transforming a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that integrates multiple software components, executing it through clear, comprehensible, well-tested, and extensible code.
• You are comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Your experience indicates a commitment to your professional growth, actively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.
• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
