Machine Learning Engineer I, Personalization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Leverage both in-house and third-party LLMs to address language comprehension challenges.

• Apply methods such as fine-tuning and RAG to enhance model performance.

• Play a key role in the design, development, evaluation, deployment, and refinement of Spotify’s products through direct ML development.

• Assist in optimizing, testing, and creating tools to enhance the quality of our content enrichment assets.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams comprising MLEs, data and backend engineers, along with stakeholders from tech research, data science, and product to innovate new features and technologies.

• Engage as a member of our AI Foundation’s ML community, working collaboratively and effectively within our established platforms and systems.

• Conduct data analysis to set baselines and guide product decisions.

• Stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning algorithms and techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in machine learning, particularly with Large Language Models.

• Professional experience in applied machine learning.

• Significant experience in a product and data-centric environment (Python, Scala, Java, SQL, with a requirement for Python experience).

• Practical experience in implementing or prototyping machine learning systems at scale.

• Experience in architecting data pipelines and being self-sufficient in acquiring the data necessary to build and assess models, utilizing tools such as Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Spark.

• Commitment to agile software methodologies, data-driven development, reliability, and systematic experimentation.

• Proven experience and enthusiasm for nurturing collaborative teams.

• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or other scalable machine learning frameworks.

• Experience in designing near real-time pipelines is an advantage.
