Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, testing, and implementation of statistical and machine learning models utilizing robust scientific methodologies — encompassing data exploration, model evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Seamlessly integrate models into production, taking ownership of the complete pipeline: data ingestion, cleaning, feature engineering, training, and delivering predictions through APIs and user interfaces.

• Develop new end-to-end features for our platform aimed at retailers and consistently enhance existing capabilities.

• Create and refine user interfaces that present insights and recommendations generated from our models.

• Employ best practices in software engineering: maintain clean, modular, and well-documented code; utilize version control (GitHub); distinguish between scripts and notebooks; engage in refactoring; and implement unit testing.

• Supervise, troubleshoot, and enhance machine learning models in production to maintain accuracy and performance over time.

• Collaborate across various functions with data, backend, and product teams to convert business challenges into scalable AI solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Pursuing an Engineer, Master’s, or PhD degree from a prestigious university, specializing in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Machine Learning (or a related field).

• Profound understanding of statistical modeling, essential machine learning concepts, and their theoretical foundations.

• Skilled in Python and its data/machine learning ecosystem (including NumPy, pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc.).

• Strong grasp of software engineering principles and ease in working with APIs and production systems.

• A curious, detail-oriented, and self-motivated attitude, paired with a solid sense of ownership.

• Additional advantages include:

• Involvement in Kaggle-type competitions or personal machine learning projects.

• Interest in tech entrepreneurship and comprehension of retail challenges, both online and offline.

• Experience in deploying machine learning models in practical settings (e.g., FastAPI, Docker, GCP, AWS).

• Proficiency in English.
