Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design and implement large-scale distributed machine learning systems that are scalable, efficient, reliable, and high-performing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the deployment and integration of machine learning models.

• Act as a liaison with the business units to address their machine learning requirements and contribute to the cross-business unit machine learning portfolio.

• Enhance feature extraction, transformation, and selection processes.

• Manage and work with Feature Stores to promote reusability across machine learning pipelines.

• Guarantee the scalability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and user-friendliness of the machine learning platform.

• Participate in the assessment and adoption of new technologies and tools to boost our machine learning capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a **Machine Learning Engineer**.

• Strong expertise in **supervised and unsupervised learning, survival analysis, time series modeling, and statistical forecasting.**

• Proficient in **developing predictive models (e.g., churn prediction, user journey analysis, sales forecasting) utilizing behavioral data**.

• Skilled in **ML frameworks** such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.

• Experienced in **model training, versioning, and monitoring** processes.

• Strong foundation in MLOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, SageMaker, MLflow, model observability tools, and feature stores.

• Possess a business-oriented mindset with the ability to link model results to product and strategic objectives.
