Loss Control Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site visits to perform risk assessments and provide services to prospective, new quote, and existing accounts.

• Execute risk assessments which include physical surveys, investigating risk exposures and accidents, analyzing risk history, creating service plans, and offering recommendations.

• Consult with underwriters to assess the acceptability of accounts and risks.

• Provide both verbal and written communication to the underwriting team.

• Collaborate with agents to build and nurture relationships while securing new business opportunities.

• Efficiently manage a designated service territory, work alongside customers to ensure safety planning is established, and deliver training presentations to business clients, large groups, or associations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in safety, loss control, risk management, insurance, claims, underwriting, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated ability to operate independently within a field-based territory.

• Evaluate large or complex accounts that span multiple business classes.

• Identify key loss drivers and formulate practical recommendations aimed at reducing loss frequency and severity.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, active listening, negotiation, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities.

• A valid driver’s license is required.
