This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Act as the lead educator and primary instructor.
• Diligently strive to achieve all objectives related to student success and culture, as well as specific state academic accountability goals.
• Provide highly effective live instructional sessions through web conferencing, tailored to student needs and grounded in research-based teaching methods.
• Set up courses within the Learning Management System for each subject taught.
• Track student progress in asynchronous courses and deliver feedback/grades on assignments daily.
• Maintain regular contact with each student.
• Work with the Principal to prepare and present Progress Reports for Students.
• Frequently analyze student-level data to guide adjustments in the instructional program.
• Adapt instruction to cater to the diverse needs of all students.
• Employ research-based best practices in synchronous and asynchronous teaching.
• Foster a joyful, nurturing, and supportive classroom atmosphere for all students.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching strategies into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Enforce school-wide cultural expectations and norms both inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding their child's academic and social-emotional development.
• Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into everyday classroom activities and team collaborations.
• Participate in planning and executing non-instructional events such as social gatherings and field trips, and attend these events in person.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively, respectfully, and humbly with all colleagues.
• Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• Valid Washington teaching license in the relevant content area.
• Must be a resident of Washington.
• Understanding of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years of teaching experience.
• High comfort level in a growth-focused coaching environment characterized by frequent observations, debriefings, action planning, and progress tracking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• Capability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
• Ability to supervise students in all school environments.
• Must pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience in a multicultural setting is preferred.
