Logistics Specialist II – Trade Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Ensure comprehensive documentation is created and submitted promptly.

• Oversee certificates and regulated paperwork.

• Take charge of customs and trade compliance.

• Manage requests for information related to customs.

• Play a pivotal role in enhancing and standardizing trade compliance procedures, while spearheading regional implementation and adoption of Trade Compliance practices and policies.

• Establish regional protocols for import/export compliance, tariff classification, country of origin determination, and export control classification.

• Identify opportunities to utilize preferential trade programs and strategies for duty mitigation.

• Provide support during audits and regulatory inquiries.

• Stay updated on global regulatory developments.

• Interpret relevant regulations into clear and actionable guidelines.

• Create, review, audit, and amend commercial invoices to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant import/export regulations.

• Collaborate with Importers of Record (IORs), customs brokers, carriers, and other third-party partners to rectify discrepancies and maintain shipment compliance.

• Recognize and escalate compliance issues, delays, or inconsistencies in documentation or processes.

• Adhere to established internal procedures, controls, and compliance standards.

• Work collaboratively across functions to ensure alignment of trade compliance requirements and data accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).

• More than 5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, import/export operations, or a similar role.

• Experience in reviewing or producing shipping documentation.

• In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export requirements, and global trade processes.

• Experience collaborating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, or couriers.
