This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.
• Oversee international shipments from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to West Africa.
• Manage multimodal transportation, including air, ocean, and road, with a focus on temperature-sensitive shipments.
• Ensure compliance with agreed-upon Incoterms.
• Coordinate import clearance procedures across various West African countries.
• Liaise with customs authorities, standard organizations, and pharmaceutical regulatory bodies.
• Confirm that all import documentation, permits, waivers, and approvals are accurate and compliant.
• Maintain daily relationships with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and clearing agents.
• Collaborate with global and regional logistics providers.
• Assist with routing optimization, shipment consolidation, and initiatives aimed at cost efficiency.
• Track partner performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Facilitate the execution of donor-funded and humanitarian shipments.
• Manage duty waivers, exemptions, and compliance requirements specific to programs.
• Identify and proactively address operational risks.
• Resolve shipment disruptions and escalate critical issues as necessary.
• Maintain thorough shipment tracking and documentation.
• Generate operational reports that include estimated times of arrival (ETAs), delays, cost tracking, and clearance timelines.
• Leverage data to identify trends and inform operational decision-making.
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and execution playbooks.
• Assist in meeting delivery requirements for key accounts while ensuring customer alignment.
• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
• Hands-on experience with customs clearance processes in West Africa.
• Knowledge of import and export regulations and clearance procedures.
• Experience managing air and ocean freight operations on international routes.
• Background in regulated supply chains such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or humanitarian logistics is preferred.
• Familiarity with temperature-controlled logistics is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel for analysis, tracking, and reporting purposes.
• Ability to interpret operational data to support decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across logistics partners, regulators, and internal teams.
• Excellent execution capability with a keen attention to detail and compliance.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Relevant certifications or professional affiliations in freight forwarding, customs clearance, or logistics are advantageous.
