This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Gather, prepare, and manage all essential documentation for mortgage loan files until approval.
• Maintain high customer service standards while addressing inquiries.
• Ensure that loan processing adheres to bank, regulatory, and investor guidelines.
• Organize loan files for submission to underwriting by entering data into the system, completing processing sheets, and prioritizing necessary documents.
• Review and confirm the accuracy and currency of each file's information.
• Request credit reports, title commitments, surveys, and appraisals from relevant parties.
• Serve as the intermediary between customers and all transaction participants, keeping customers updated on loan status.
• Submit files via automated underwriting for approval and deliver completed loan packages to the designated underwriter for final approval.
• Prepare approved loans for closing and coordinate the closing process with lenders, borrowers, and title companies.
• Participate in seminars, in-house training sessions, and/or read mortgage publications to stay informed about new loan product guidelines and processing procedures.
• Send verification requests for deposits, employment, installment loans, mortgages, and rentals as needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one to three (1 - 3) years of experience in mortgage processing or two to three (2 - 3) years of clerical, administrative support, or a related field.
• State Licensing may be required in certain states.
• Familiarity with FNMA and Freddie MAC guidelines.
• Knowledge of VA and FHA guidelines preferred.
• Understanding of loan processing and closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
• Comprehension of credit policies and approval processes.
• Proficient in the use of general office equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with loan officers and customers.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure.
• Proficient typing speed of at least 60 WPM with accuracy.
• Capability to work under occasionally demanding conditions while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
• Ability to lift 10-20 lbs. of files or other loan documents.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while preparing and processing mortgage loan files.
