This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Manage and actively carry out electronic submission of pleadings, motions, and intricate legal documents in federal, state, and appellate courts across the country.
• Act as the procedural authority for courts in New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, including NYSCEF, eCourts, Delaware State Courts, the Delaware Court of Chancery, and U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts.
• Provide guidance to attorneys and paralegals regarding local court regulations, judges’ practices, and filing necessities.
• Address electronic filing rejections, discrepancies in docketing, and issues with court platforms.
• Support case teams with the processes for State, Federal, and Pro Hac Vice bar admissions.
• Conduct final quality control reviews of pleadings and filings to ensure compliance with formatting, redaction, signatures, and exhibits.
• Review docket entries to confirm dates, deadlines, and events.
• Calculate, verify, and input litigation deadlines in accordance with court regulations and rules-based scheduling.
• Examine incoming litigation documents and input deadlines, discovery timelines, and event notifications into docketing software.
• Notify attorneys and paralegals about critical deadlines and communicate the receipt of documents and filing confirmations.
• Perform docket sweeps, data integrity checks, and case status reconciliations.
• Investigate litigants, cases, dockets, and judicial profiles utilizing online legal databases.
• Compile and distribute tailored docket reports for legal teams situated in various offices.
• Over 5 years of recent experience in litigation docketing and court filing within a mid-to-large law firm.
• Comprehensive national experience with a particular focus on the courts of New York, New Jersey, and Delaware at the county, state, and federal levels.
• Profound knowledge of court systems, litigation processes, and civil procedures.
• Expertise in New York, New Jersey, and Delaware state and federal court regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail in reviewing legal documents and calculating statutory deadlines.
• Capability to prioritize several urgent filings and tasks under competing time constraints in a high-volume litigation setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in rules-based docketing systems, particularly Milana and/or CompuLaw.
• Extensive practical experience with PACER/ECF, NYSCEF, New Jersey eCourts, Delaware State Courts, Delaware Court of Chancery, U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts, and Odyssey.
• Proficient in iManage or an equivalent document management system.
• Skilled in Adobe Acrobat Professional for document editing, splitting, and redaction tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with the processes for State, Federal, and Pro Hac Vice bar admissions.
• Willingness to assist in the training and mentorship of junior docketing or filing staff.
• Experience in filing within state and/or federal court.
• Background in electronic filing.
• Experience in converting PDF files to Word or preparing scanned documents for editing.
