Linguistic QA Tester, Bulgarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• In the role of a Linguistic QA Tester, you will primarily be engaged in proofreading and editing content that has already been localized into your native language, ensuring the identification of errors such as grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political incorrectness, inconsistencies, and unnecessary spaces between words or characters.

• Occasionally, you will be tasked with translating content from English into your native language.

• You will also be responsible for checking user interfaces for functional issues.

• Document and report relevant bugs and errors following best practices via our internal database system.

• Demonstrate the ability to understand and prioritize tasks and issues swiftly and effectively.

• Possess native language skills and cultural knowledge of your home country.

• Exhibit strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Maintain a high level of organization with attention to detail and a dedication to quality.

• Conduct quality assurance on various products by meticulously following testing instructions and test cases.

• Identify and report defects (bugs) using client-specific bug tracking tools.

• Assess translations within the context of software, mobile applications, and documentation.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language, with the capability to research and resolve linguistic inquiries.

• Comply with project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.

• Troubleshoot basic issues and communicate effectively while escalating testing concerns.

• Complete assigned tasks with both quality and timeliness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to work on-site and/or at the client's location.

• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency (both spoken and written) in the required language(s).

• Current knowledge of prevalent technical language usage in the target language.

• Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Experience with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to navigate networks and websites using various browsers.

• Basic understanding of PC hardware (desktop and laptop).

• Basic familiarity with smartphones (iPhone or Android).

• Must be organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Localization/QA/translation or advanced computer skills.
