This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• As a vital extension of our clients' HR teams, guide and advise on the complex landscape of global employment with unparalleled speed, expertise, and accuracy.
• Oversee and resolve the complete process of employee exits (offboardings) across various international jurisdictions, ensuring a top-notch offboarding experience for Remote's clients and their employees.
• Offer sound advice and address clients' inquiries on a range of HR topics, including termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
• Facilitate and lead meetings with clients and external employees, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, negotiations related to separations and settlements, providing guidance on terminations, and delivering termination outcomes.
• Negotiate and influence favorable results in intricate terminations, balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various internal and external parties to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits, including payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.
• Draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documents with precision and attention to detail, guaranteeing that employee records are maintained in strict compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Execute offboarding on Remote's internal HRIS platform, working alongside various internal stakeholders, including Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, among others, to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are handled accurately and swiftly.
• Serve as the subject-matter expert and address internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding issues in collaboration with Employee Relations internal stakeholders.
• Guide clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and guides, assisting them in comprehending applicable policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify opportunities for and contribute to process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall customer and employee experiences through the offboarding and employee relations processes.
• Experience in a role as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience with a solid background in managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with empathy, sensitivity, and legal compliance; and providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across diverse jurisdictions.
• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze intricate HR issues, conduct research, offer practical solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders when navigating ambiguous and unfamiliar environments.
• Basic knowledge of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and fundamentals of workplace investigations.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation abilities, with a talent for confidently steering challenging discussions towards positive resolutions, even in situations where parties have conflicting interests, while maintaining professionalism and stringent confidentiality.
• Business-level (advanced) proficiency in both written and spoken English, with additional languages viewed as advantageous.
• A willingness to innovate and enhance processes, continuously identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for automation and advocating for best practices.
• Operational efficiency, coupled with an understanding of the significance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.
• Tech-savvy, with the capability to collaborate effectively in an asynchronous manner using various tools, and adapt to new and evolving systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote setting with multiple priorities, along with a readiness to work flexible hours as necessary.
