This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver virtual library support to both students and faculty via appointments, email, and various online communication platforms.
• Maintain a consistent schedule for library research assistance appointments.
• Address inquiries received through the library email account, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate referrals.
• Assist in the development and upkeep of LibGuides, library web pages, and digital educational content.
• Aid in the planning, hosting, and presentation of introductory Library Classroom sessions.
• Support library outreach initiatives, workshops, webinars, and activities aimed at enhancing awareness and utilization of library resources.
• Guide students in navigating academic databases, e-books, and other digital resources, offering advice on effective research strategies and the use of scholarly materials.
• Keep precise records of appointments, inquiries, and completed projects.
• Participate in special projects related to library services, instructional support, and initiatives promoting student success.
• Stay updated on library resources, university policies, and emerging technologies pertinent to academic research and learning.
• Troubleshoot basic issues related to library databases and electronic resources, referring technical problems as necessary.
• Undertake additional projects and tasks as required.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Strong organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Master of Library and Information Science or equivalent professional experience (preferred).
• Experience in higher education environments such as libraries, academic support centers, or tutoring settings (preferred).
• Familiarity with academic database research and scholarly resources (preferred).
• Experience in creating instructional materials, tutorials, videos, or online learning content (preferred).
• Experience with LibGuides and information literacy instruction (preferred).
• Experience in providing virtual support services (preferred).
