Legal Research & AI Evaluation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Review written materials and AI-generated outputs for legal correctness, relevance, and professional standards.

• Evaluate legal analyses, explanations, and conclusions for sound professional reasoning.

• Detect factual inaccuracies, unsupported conclusions, missing issues, and misleading interpretations.

• Respond to legal inquiries with clear, well-reasoned rationales based on relevant authority.

• Utilize professional judgment in areas such as contracts, litigation, regulation, compliance, corporate law, intellectual property, and related domains.

• Differentiate between statutes, regulations, case law, and secondary authority.

• Provide corrections along with supporting rationale.

• Identify trustworthy legal sources and review case law databases, statutes, regulations, treatises, and professional reference materials.

• Evaluate whether the cited authorities are relevant, up-to-date, and correctly applied.

• Highlight jurisdictional limitations, conflicting authorities, and contextual factors.

• Offer insights into legal research, written analyses, and the management of legal work.

• Assess memoranda, briefs, contracts, compliance documents, and related materials.

• Clarify practical legal standards, research methodologies, and professional decision-making processes.

• Collaborate asynchronously with a small team of subject-matter experts from various fields.

⛳️ Requirements

• Admission to a state bar in the United States is mandatory.

• A Juris Doctor degree or an equivalent legal qualification is essential.

• A minimum of 2 years of professional legal experience is required.

• Experience in contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, corporate law, intellectual property, or multiple areas of practice is necessary.

• Strong familiarity with legal research tools, case law databases, statutes, regulations, and treatises.

• Experience in drafting legal memoranda, briefs, advisory materials, or other substantive written work.

• Professional working proficiency in English is required.

• Excellent written communication, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail are essential.

• Reliable availability for approximately 10 hours per week is expected.

• Current residency in the United States is required.

• Advanced training in legal research, writing, litigation, compliance, or any relevant practice area may enhance an application.

• Additional qualifications in legal information management or law librarianship may also be advantageous.
