This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Offer scheduled telephonic interpreting services for the state of Oregon's Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH).
• Accurately convey concepts and meanings between the speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) individual.
• Uphold courteous communication, clear enunciation, and a high standard of customer service.
• Ensure correct grammar, clarity, and tone between English and your native language.
• Adhere to the speakers’ instructions and manage the conversation flow in a professional manner.
• Court-Certified or Court-Registered - you will be required to present your credentials.
• Preference will be given to interpreters with certification from the Oregon Judicial Department or those who can demonstrate a solid foundation of court interpreting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs).
• Consent to mandatory criminal history background checks.
• Strong grasp of legal hearing procedures.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in telephonic (over-the-phone) interpretation within a legal or court setting.
• Two (2) professional references who can vouch for your role as a legal interpreter.
• Minimum age: Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum education: Must possess a High School Diploma.
• Location: Must reside in the United States.
