Legal Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across different departments to provide guidance to operations, product, engineering, and customer care teams regarding product development and new features.

• Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations concerning our sectors, new product functionalities, and creative marketing strategies.

• Draft, review, and proofread contracts, including influencer agreements, freelance writer contracts, master service agreements, DPAs, and third-party vendor agreements.

• Innovate and improve processes for legal support within the travel and fintech sectors.

• Frequently engage with internal stakeholders to implement cross-company initiatives.

• Recognize and manage legal risks in the context of business operations.

• Develop internal training materials for non-legal personnel covering topics such as privilege, confidentiality, influencer negotiations, and data protection.

• Liaise with external counsel on various issues, including employment law, data protection, and litigation matters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctorate program, with status as a law school student (1L, 2L, or 3L).

• A strong sense of intellectual curiosity, regardless of the task's size.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of rapidly grasping new and intricate issues.

• Experience managing projects from inception to completion or eagerness to acquire this skill.

• Enjoys working independently with minimal supervision and appreciates flexibility.

• Resourceful and determined in completing tasks and projects.

• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment.

• Keen interest in business and/or startups.

• Empathetic and passionate about advancing our mission.
