This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Deliver legal guidance on matters pertaining to cybersecurity, data protection, and information security throughout Thermo Fisher Scientific.
• Evaluate and assess commercial contracts for risks associated with cybersecurity and data protection, encompassing vendor, supplier, SaaS, and technology agreements.
• Facilitate adherence to global cybersecurity regulations, such as the CRA, NIS2, and SEC cybersecurity disclosure requirements.
• Conduct legal assessments of U.S. government and public sector cybersecurity mandates.
• Engage in cybersecurity and data incident response efforts, which include documentation, evidence tracking, and crafting incident-related communications.
• Execute legal research and keep track of regulatory changes linked to cybersecurity, privacy, and technology risk.
• Aid in internal audits, regulatory inquiries, and risk evaluations by preparing and upholding necessary documentation.
• Work in collaboration with Cybersecurity, IT, Privacy, Compliance, Risk Management, and Procurement teams to advance business goals.
• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of internal legal guidance, templates, and training resources.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
• A valid license to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
• 2-5 years of legal experience, with a focus on technology, cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory compliance, or commercial contracting.
