This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including client agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor contracts, and subcontracting arrangements.
• Oversee and manage the company's library of contract templates and standard legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and serve as the internal contact for data protection inquiries; coordinate with external DPO when necessary.
• Provide guidance on regulatory requirements related to the public sector and defense, including export control and security-related contract obligations.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel, including scoping, briefing, and ensuring the quality of outside legal advice.
• Assist in corporate governance matters across group entities, including issues related to shareholders, intercompany agreements, and subsidiary structuring.
• Fully qualified attorney in Germany with successful completion of the First and Second State Examinations (Erstes und Zweites Staatsexamen).
• Admission to the German bar as a licensed attorney (zugelassene/r Rechtsanwalt / Rechtsanwältin).
• Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification legal experience acquired in-house and/or in private practice, ideally with a blend of both.
• Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial B2B contracts, especially in IT and software law, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, and IP-related provisions.
• Strong understanding of German employment law and experience in addressing day-to-day employment-related issues.
• Practical knowledge of GDPR and data protection compliance, including drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and managing data subject requests.
• Previous experience at a large law firm is preferred.
• A pragmatic, business-oriented approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a tech environment and quickly adapt to digital tools.
• Full professional proficiency in both German (native or equivalent) and English, with the capability to draft and advise in both languages.
