LEAN/MAP – Loan Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, analyze, or carry out underwriting due diligence for residential healthcare facilities, which includes the assessment of:

• Appraisals related to residential healthcare facilities,

• Reports on the physical condition of residential healthcare facilities,

• Credit histories to assess the creditworthiness of multifamily borrowers, operators, and/or management agents,

• Financial statements for properties and involved parties,

• Quality of care concerns and professional liability insurance pertaining to residential healthcare facilities.

• Assess new and renewal loan applications to ensure their adherence to HUD’s lending guidelines as outlined in the Multifamily handbook.

• Underwrite intricate transactions characterized by complex borrower structures and distinctive property or market traits.

• Oversee a loan pipeline and efficiently finalize the underwriting review of new loans and resubmissions.

• Collaborate within a team of underwriters and closers to achieve overall processing objectives.

• Engage directly with lenders to guarantee that all loan documentation is complete and distributed promptly.

• Articulate analysis and findings in both verbal and written forms suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.

• A minimum of four years of FHA underwriting experience, specifically with Residential Healthcare loan processing.

• Must hold approval as a MAP or LEAN Underwriter.

• In-depth knowledge of real estate and mortgage finance terminology and principles.

• Exceptional analytical abilities and technical writing skills, including grammar, editing, and proofreading proficiency for drafting underwriting narratives and loan committee documents.

• Capability to prioritize tasks effectively, demonstrating strong time management skills.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to work productively and accurately in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and strict deadlines.
