Lead/Senior Technical Product Manager – Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Strategic product leadership: Oversee the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform engineering products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and engineering requirements.

• Platform-as-product: Approach internal capabilities as tangible products, leveraging discovery, user research, feedback loops, and adoption metrics to address genuine issues for creators.

• Stakeholder management: Facilitate coordination among engineers, product managers, engineering leads, security, SRE, and executive leadership to establish a unified platform direction.

• Impact ownership: Establish and monitor success metrics, including platform adoption, change lead time, and MTTD/MTTR. This entails converting intricate technical platform initiatives and metrics into straightforward business interests and ROI for non-technical (C-level) stakeholders.

• Internal product evangelism: Articulate complex technical products in a clear and convincing manner to ensure teams understand, trust, and adopt them.

• Agentic engineering enablement: Assist in designing the tools, contextual layers, and guardrails that empower individuals and AI agents to safely develop and deploy software.

• Prioritization and trade-offs: Balance speed, reliability, security, simplicity, and long-term maintainability within a fast-paced scaleup environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in product management, technical product management, or a related role for technical products.

• A robust platform-as-product mindset, preferably with experience in designing internal tools, developer platforms, infrastructure products, or technical B2B solutions.

• Adequate technical knowledge to engage in discussions about cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, security, and software delivery trade-offs with engineers.

• Strong communication abilities and the capability to translate complex technical concepts into narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders.

• A pragmatic, outcome-driven approach that emphasizes rapid problem-solving.

• Excellent proficiency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.

• Bonus points for experience in platform engineering, SRE, cloud infrastructure, security, developer experience, or internal developer portals.

• Practical technical skills, including programming experience.

• Experience in a scaleup environment with approximately 100 to 1,000 employees.

• Interest in climate tech and renewable energy.
